It's really great Christina can give us these crystal clear photos since I'm guessing that she must be nearsighted (and without glasses!) since she can't read anything that's right in front of her. She must have the font on her computer screen really quite large. Happily, someone on Facebook figured out (or remembered the odd files on JavaBirdJobs) that the pipes read Janriski Bros. Plumbing so that led us to http://janriskibrothersplumbing.com Well, this is pretty straight forward. Maybe we were missing too sutble of clues on the other sites so they wanted to slap us in the face with it. "Truth Is The Way 424-235-1782" Dialing the phone number (with a Los Angeles area code) gives you a guy with a creepy voice repeating the numbers 1 1 8 2 3 3 over and over again while a music box plays The More We Get Together. (By the way, don't ask how the mp3 was found on the website because I haven't the slightest clue. The joys of people not showing their work.) The numbers (118233) are the numeric equivalent of the circled letters (AAHBCC) on the paper taped to the bottom of Christina's notebook. Adding in the dash and period, you get -118.233 which looks suspiciously like a longitudinal line. And that longitude line runs right through Los Angeles. Yet another clue pointing to Los Angeles. So either Christina is there, someone really wants us to think that she is or there is a big clue to her whereabouts somewhere in LA.
Unfortunately, Christina never really elaborates on what the hell she is talking about in this post. So it requires you to go through several pages of Facebook comments to figure out that in the photo she posted of all of the papers taped up on the wall you can make out "XTINA" written in red in the bottom left corner. I'm guessing the 'UP WITH' part is probably written on the leaf and thus impossible to make out on the posted image.
Again, this is one of those posts that is never actually explained without digging through a bunch of Facebook replies (most of which are asking what the hell is going on). It seems that Facebook user Relgned Htes emailed Christina's mother Cathy and posted picture of the reply on Cathy's wall. Then (the details are a little fuzzy, so I could be wrong) the kidnapper emailed Relgned Htes (using the email address in the picture) from Christina's email account. Relgned then tells Christina about it and Christina makes the above more viewable, yet ultimately confusing, reply. Other people are able to get an auto-reply back from Christina's account (it has since been disabled). The auto-reply reads: From: Christina Perasso <christina.perasso@gmail.com> Subject: yourfriendsaremyfriends Re: Test Date: July 27, 2011 12:01:34 AM EDT Dear "Friend", Christina is a little tied up right now. As if you really cared. But we'll find out if you do, now, won't we? The subject yourfriendsaremyfriends comes from the song that was playing on the laptop and in the background of the phone number from Janriski Brothers. And it also leads to a new website: http://yourfriendsaremyfriends.com YourFriendsAreMyFriends.com is pretty spooky. It's a 30 second looping video of a child's jewelry box playing The More We Get Together with the "A single rose can be my garden...a single friend my world" quote by Leo F. Buscaglia written on top of the frame. Checking out the source of the page reveals a bit of a manifesto from the kidnapper. He has left two separate, yet similiar, messages written in the meta description and in a commented out section: The modern world can be so cruel. Technology can pull us apart. Hide us away from each other. Make us try to go it alone. Or it can bring us together. No one can stand alone. No one should stand by. Share the burden. Truth is the way The modern world has ripped us apart. Technology has tricked us. The human condition cannot be rendered in zeros and ones. It has made us think that each of us can stand alone. IT HAS MADE US BELIEVE that what kept us alive for millennia is no longer needed. It has shattered families, broken communities, made friends little more than shadows. It has made us think that each of us are kings and queens, masters of our own tiny worlds – when in fact we are prisoners in our tiny castles, more exposed to the perils of existence than we have ever been. We have forgotten what we need most. That only together are we strong. That sharing empowers us. That to help another is to help ourselves. I WILL show the world the error of its ways. I will show them the truth. The lesson will be hard. They will fear me, hate me. THEY WILL CALL ME INSANE. But they will learn. TRUTH IS THE WAY.
