In the next set of updates, Christina starts answering questions posed by Tori Ann in the comments of the 6:59 update. The questions are as follows:
1) Is the toliet functioning?
2) In Denver you were visiting your great aunt, which side of the family is that aunt on? Perhaps family roots are in Denver?
3) Tell us about the last time you talked to Kirk. Did it end well? Did he seem to be acting strangely at all?
4) What do you know about Jen's fiance? Any history with him? Or any other reason Jen would be threatened by you?
5) There seems to be a lot of talk about flowers, your baby pictures and a baby picture of you holding a rose. Can you feel anything inside the rose pillow on your bed? Can you tear it open and see inside?
6) Is the clock on your wall working? If not, what time is it stuck at?
7) Does that Frank Sinatra song, "Where or When" mean anything to you?
So now we have someone else to keep track of - and on an entirely different social networkig platform! Christina has been tweeting this entire time, but mostly it's just rehashes of what she posted to Facebook. All of the actual conversation have been taking place on Facebook. So why the switch now? Is it just wanting to get the twitters in on the action? Hoping to get more out of #SaveChristinaPerasso than people bitching about the promoted tweets? If so, it seems to have worked since the latest search on the hashtag doesn't show the bitterness that was there early this week.
So, @h1ghway_man isn't giving us much to go on. The first tweet shows him arriving in Seattle on July 20th and getting stuck in the traffic that backed up after a 14-car pile-up. But then the next day (July 21st) he says he traveled 700 miles. Christina wasn't taken until sometime on the 22nd (if the timestamp on her last FB post is to be believed). I'm a lot more willing to believe that than anything that h1ghway_man says about his location, even if he talks about seeing New Mexico.
Although not listed on his twitter profile, h1ghway_man does have a website at http://www.h1ghwayman.com. It's a simple site that contains a lot of bad trucker poetry. Whoever h1ghway_man is, it seems like he has been heartbroken and that makes him sad. The tone is much different than the stuff we've been getting from the kidnapper. More emoness here and less anger than in the manifestos. Maybe the kidnapper just likes to compartmentalize their emotions.
“Untitled”
Way back when,
Yeah things felt better,
It was way back when,
When I first met her.
She saw an open road
I saw nothing on the horizon
Yeah it was way back when,
That was way back then…
------------------------------------------------------------
“A better place”
Driving for days, and no end in sight,
And I drift in my head,
To another place and time,
And I’m sitting on the lake,
As tiny dragons fly by,
Just me and my girl,
And not a cloud in her sky.“Think twice”
Wish I thought twice,
‘bout how hard it would be,
Falling in love,
When you’re as unlucky as me.
------------------------------------------------------------
“Sorry Darling”
I’m sorry darling,
Don’t know if you will get to hear this,
But I’m sorry darling,
I guess it’s better this way.
------------------------------------------------------------
“Rigs and Cigs”
They all sit around the table,
And another night goes by,
Swapping lonely stories,
Not a tear in their eye,
Filling up on coffee,
And “home made” apple pie,
Then they hit the open road,
Till another night goes by.
------------------------------------------------------------
“Going Nowhere”
Running on empty,
But the tanks half full,
And I’m rolling down the window,
‘Cause I can’t keep my cool,
But there’s nothing left to do,
And there’s nothing left to say,
When you can’t find the words,
You just drive the other way.
------------------------------------------------------------
“The Getaway”
Worn out,
Close to broken,
Battered and bruised,
Rattled and shaken,
There’s lights down the road,
But I can hardly see them,
The growl of the night,
The howl from the engine.
------------------------------------------------------------
"Lucky guy"
Fuzzy dice,
A pine tree air freshener,
Or a Hula girl on the dash.
A Rabbit's foot was his lucky coin,
A ballerina in a box
Was mine.
------------------------------------------------------------
“The lonely places I call home”
The lonely places I call home
are quiet
and still.
A roar turns to a hum,
a beacon to a gas lamp
a charge to a saunter.
And still I persist.
I move
I glide
Towards the next deep breath
The next sigh
The next pause
And the next lonely place.
------------------------------------------------------------
“Thank You”
Thank you to the trucker who feeds me each ‘morn
Delivering grains from the day I was born.
Thank you to the trucker who taught me to read
Bringing me workbooks and pencils with speed.
Thank you to the trucker who helps me each day
At work sending boxes and letters away.
Thank you to the trucker who puts me to bed
The soft sheets and pillow where I lay my head.
------------------------------------------------------------
“Another”
A whiz and a slap
A buzz and a thwak
Zoom, SPLAT.
Another bug dead.
------------------------------------------------------------
“The things you see”
The things you see when you’re a long ways from home,
Are like memories trying to break you,
Those people trying to save you,
The Ego that overtook you,
The engine that now steers you.
?You do your best to pay it no mind.
I'll take the open road,
One day at a time.
------------------------------------------------------------
“Think twice”
Wish I thought twice,
‘bout how hard it would be,
Falling in love,
When you’re as unlucky as me.
------------------------------------------------------------
"One Man”
A man is free.
A man is breathing.
A man is easy.
A man is moving with the wind.
A man is trapped.
A man is suffocating.
A man is carrying.
A man is fleeing from his past.
------------------------------------------------------------
“Roots”
Seeing the first rays of the sun.
Smelling the day dawns.
Feeling the air trembling.
Tasting the rain fall down.
But I’m not a flower--
you need roots to grow.
------------------------------------------------------------
“Forgiveness”
Magic is seeing the sun set over Nevada´s infinity.
Pleasure is letting the whiskey burn down my throat.
Addiction is freedom on the road.
The beauty, the power is not enough any more
And I fin that life is worth nothing
without you.
------------------------------------------------------------
“1986”
Running on empty,
But the tanks half full,
And I’m rolling down the window,
‘Cause I can’t keep my cool,
But there’s nothing left to do,
And there’s nothing left to say,
When you can’t find the words,
You just drive the other way.
------------------------------------------------------------
“The Left Coast”
Hammer down
Don’t look up
Cruise past the saltshakers in Bean Town
Back to the left coast
To where I belong
Where another life now awaits me
------------------------------------------------------------
“Alligator Radio”
Friends without faces
That’s Alligator Radio
A familiar voice
Scratched and weary
Telling a new story
With the same old punch line
That's Alligator Radio
The Janriski Brothers phone number updated to append a new message after the string of 118233s. A convenient mp3 was even placed on the website so that you didn't have to keep calling back to verify what was being said (although I'm not sure how exactly the mp3 was found).
Bravo Whiskey Xray Victor Bravo Whiskey Xray Papa Alpha Tango Mike Mike Alpha Xray Yankee November Mike November Kilo Xray Uniform Kilo Bravo Golf Zulu Lima Tango Mike Romeo Tango Alpha Hotel Hotel Whiskey Hotel Mike Victor Hotel Foxtrot
Converting that into letters you get BWXVBWXPATMMAXYNMNKXUKBGZLTMRTAHHWHMVHF and then with the magic of ROT-7 you get IDECIDEWHATTHEFUTUREBRINGSATYAHOODOTCOM. Emailing idecidewhatthefuturebrings@yahoo.com is supposed to get you an auto-response back with the message rddz://iyede.lo/7_Z-6EKMYr0 - but for some fucking bizarre reason it doesn't work anymore.
<start-rant> Why the hell would you still have a clue up that points to something that is no longer working? And why the need to stop an email auto-response after less than 24 hours on a throwaway account. It makes no fucking sense! Apparently, the Puppetmasters hate latecomers. And lurkers since none of this information is posted by Christina, so unless you read through each and every comment and wall post, you would have no idea any of this was going on. Can you tell this has completely pissed me off? I've even sent off emails to several different address expressing my displeasure. And then for good measure, I have made those emails public just in case the powers that be never received the emails but monitor the social network sites I spammed my rant to. </endrant>
So, where I was? Ahh, yes. The non-existant auto-reply. If you ROT-16 rddz://iyede.lo/7_Z-6EKMYr0 (seriously, why the hell does the kidnapper feel the need to ROT a URL when it's obvious from the format what the fuck it is), you get http://youtu.be/7_P-6UACOh0 which is an unlisted Youtube video.
After being prodded by Christina, someone finally figured out that you needed to email the username of the latest youtube account at gmail: TRUTHISTHEWAY118@gmail.com. This one was working at the time I originally tried it (but seems to be down now. Wow, what a fucking surprise!)

BreakThroughTheMistOfIgnoranceAndBeholdMyPowerOverTimeAndPlace
The long string of gibberish letters is a simple substitution cipher, which is easily crackable with a program like SCBSolver. Combine that with the capital letters in the subject (TITLE) and you need to look for a Youtube video with the title BreakThroughTheMistOfIgnoranceAndBeholdMyPowerOverTimeAndPlace. When searching, you need to make sure you search for the entire long string. If you break it up into individual words, you won't find what you're looking for. Apparently, if you had emailed yourfriendsaremyfriends@gmail.com and been one of the lucky few to get an auto-response (I wasn't), you would have been pointed to this same video. The kidnapper registered another new account (this time calling themselves MoveBeyondDarkness) to upload the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ff6EP4Fd_Ts
This cipher was a keyed Vigenčre, which works like a regular Vigenčre except that you rearrange the alphabet before encoding/decoding. In order to solve them, you need the alphabet key (which is the new order of the alphabet table) and the passphrase/keyword. For this cipher, the alphabet key was "pierce" and the passphrase was "darkness".
But we're getting a little ahead of ourselves because, oddly enough, this wasn't solved right away. I wonder why. I mean, who doesn't use keyed Vigenčres these days? Emailing movebeyonddarkness@gmail.com just gets you an unhelpful response.

Solve it and See What the PartyCrasher Took Home
What you were supposed to do instead was email idecidewhatthefuturebrings@yahoo.com again to get an updated/changed auto-response that points you to a new video over at yrfriendsrmyfriends Youtube channel (not that I can verify that because the email doesn't work) that would give you a hint as to how to solve the cipher.
This is a ROT-7. Reading the capital letters, you get KEYED VIGENERE - which tells us the method on how to solve the video uploaded by MoveBeyondDarkness. If you go back through the kidnapper's writings, you'll see he talks about "piercing the darkness" a couple of different times - so I'm guessing that is how the alphabet key and passphrase were discovered.
Okay - so what exactly has this gotten us? Going back to the BreakThroughTheMist video, it talks about looking at Flickering images/pictures which is a hint that we should head on over to Flickr and look for the user WhoIsWatchingChristina.
The Flickr account has 34 pictures (conveniently numbered 1 to 34), that when put together make up one larger picture of Christina and Jennifer together. However, it's been modified so that their eyes have been scratched out and the phrase "I Was There" is written on the bottom. The picture was taken at the bachlorette party (dun dun dun!) so maybe the kidnapper is just some pissed off girl who wasn't invited to the party.
There is also some hidden numbers written across the top of the picture. It's a little hard to tell what some of the numbers are, but the guess I like the best is "5. 10. 101. 110." as in reference to four of the major freeways in the LA area. But as to what it exactly means, no one knows.
One last thing. There was another security footage video uploaded to the yrfriendsrmyfriends that shows Christina holding up the clock/thermometer that you saw at the end of the episode. Nothing too exciting though.
